This album will be dedicated to one curious building - the
house of the architect N.N. Nikonov
As you may guess by the design of this
building, Nikonov was fond of ancient Russian architecture.
Before he built this house, he designed and constructed merchant A.I.
Gruzdev's house (house No. 53 on the Moskovsky Prospect), N.P. Bassin's
house on Ostrovsky square, the facade of a house on the Dostoevsky
street. Nikonov also elaborated the design of the church of the Lady of
Kazan in Zelenogorsk
(1913-1915.)
The house we are talking about was built
in 1899-1900. It is now located on the Kolokolnaya street, No. 11.
